Collector Car Insurance
Collector car insurance is perhaps one of the most important components of any antique auto collection, but unfortunately many people fail to realize how necessary it actually is. While standard automobile policies are not intended to meet the needs associated with specialty vehicles and collectibles, companies that provide collector car insurance programs are well familiarized with the primary differences that must be noted.
Most of the auto insurers use the NADA guide to establish the value of a vehicle, and unfortunately this means that an actual assessment or true worth is not established. Collector car insurance policies automatically take into account the fact that antique collectibles are worth much more than the NADA estimates and standard insurance policies will not provide near enough coverage.
Collector car insurance helps an individual protect their valuable vehicles in the event of theft, loss, or damage and recognizes the fact that most collectibles are highly sought by criminals due to their true value. While it may be mandatory for all vehicles that are registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles to possess and maintain the basic insurance coverage, anything less than a carefully designed and fully comprehensive collector car insurance policy is simply not adequate.
